Your excursion starts from the port of Gythion where your driver will be waiting for you holding a sign with your name, along with your guide (if you want to have a guide).

Gythion is a historic town and harbor on the southern Peloponnese near the mouth of the river Eurotas. After 1 hour and 20 minutes we arrive in Sparta and see from near the statue of the Spartan king Leonidas. We continue and go to the ruined Byzantine city of Mystras. Be prepared to walk a steep path made of stone. You will see important Byzantine churches with beautiful frescoes and mosaics. You will also see many foundations of houses inhabited by nobles and palaces that are under restoration.

If the time at your disposal are more than 4 hours you can have lunch in a picturesque village in the region or in the city of Sparta. Also you can visit the olive museum where you will have the opportunity to see the first evidence for the presence of olives and production of oil in Greece, rare fossilized olive leaves, 50,000-60,000 years from Santorini (the oldest findings showing the presence of the olive tree in Greece) and anything about the olive and olive oil.
